英英辞典で sky の項目を見ていたら、こんな表現を見つけました。
[the sky’s the limit]
used to say that there is no limit to what someone can achieve, spend, win etc
(LDOCE)
If you say the sky is the limit, you mean that there is nothing to prevent someone or something from being very successful.
(COBUILD)
空のように「際限がない」ということなのですけれど、どちらかというと前向きだったりいいことが続くという感じですね。
いつまでたっても仕事が終わらないというような誰かさんみたいな状況とはちょっと違うかな（泣）。
