メールマガジンでは、久しぶりの動詞を取り上げました。
wink でしたね。
秘密だったり、ジョークだということを表す仕草・・・ということで、今日は joke を見てみましょう。

to say things that are intended to be funny and that you do not really mean

If you joke, you tell funny stories or say amusing things.

まさに「冗談を言う」ということですね。
funny というのは、普段の会話でもよく出てきます。
「おっかし〜い」って感じですね。
時々冗談が通じなくて人を怒らせてしまうことがあります。
If you say that someone cannot take a joke, you are criticizing them for getting upset or angry at something you think is funny.
