メールマガジンでは「華氏」を取り上げました。

とくれば、こちらでは「摂氏」を取り上げるに決まっています。

英英辞典では何と説明されているか・・・。

華氏の説明文で数字が変わるだけですね（笑）。

あ、「摂氏」は Celsius といいます。

30℃って書くときの「C」は、その「C」ですね。

「華氏」とまったく同じでしたね。

海外のニュースを見ると摂氏と華氏が並んで出てくるのでわかりやすいですが、いきなり華氏での温度だけ出てくると、暑いのか寒いのかすぐにはわかりません・・・。

ところで boil って英英辞典にはなんて書いてあるんでしょうね。

when a liquid boils, or when you boil it, it becomes hot enough to turn into gas
