メールマガジンでは、日本語が分かっても英語がなかなか浮かんでこない単語特集の最後に「ブランコ」を取り上げました。
で、今日は、公園にある他の遊具を見てみましょう。

A slide is a piece of playground equipment that has a steep slope for children to go down for fun.
(COBUILD)
slope という単語が出てきました。これは「すべりだい」のことですね。英語だと COBUILD にもあるとおり、slide です。
次はどうでしょう。

Monkey bars are metal or wooden bars that are joined together to form a structure for children to climb and play on.

同じく COBUILD にあるとおり、 monkey bars です。 イギリスでは climbing frame ですね。
日本語だと「うんてい」ですね。
最後にもう一つ。

A sandbox is a shallow hole or box in the garden with sand in it where small children can play.
(AM; in BRIT, use sandpit)
(COBUILD)
イギリス英語では sandpit というこれは「砂場」ですね。
