今日のメールマガジンで newspaper を取り上げました。
そこで出てきたのが tabloid でしたね。これを英英辞典で見ておきましょう。

broadsheet は日本で言う新聞と同じくらいの大きさで、シリアスな内容です。
一方、tabloid というと読みやすい小さなサイズで、写真などをふんだんに使っていて、内容も身近なものが多いです。日本でいうと、夕刊フジとかがこれにあたるのかな。私は読んだことがないのですが。

新聞は購買し続けますけど、雑誌は、ほとんど買わなくなりますね、歳取ると。
民間放送のプログラムと一緒で、演出が鬱陶しくなるんですかね、やっぱり。
って、ＮＨＫ大河ドラマも、演出に嫌気がさして見なくなりましたけど。
